PRECIOUS HARMONY OF SOUNDS
Delano Thomas is an
experienced and
accomplished musician,
arranger and instructor.  
His involvement with the
Steelpan dates back to
the QRC Jazz Club Steel
Orchestra in Trinidad
when he began playing
steelpan at the age of
ten.  
A professional player of the bass, alto and soprano pans, he has
been involved in numerous Steel Orchestras both in Trinidad
and the Toronto area.  Steel Orchestras he has worked with
include:  Starlift Steel Orchestra (Trinidad), Nutones Steel
Orchestra (Trinidad), Silhouettes Steel Orchestra (Toronto), and
Afropan Steel Orchestra (Toronto) to name a few.  

Delano, as instructor / arranger has taken many groups to the
following competitions and events:  Junior Panorama (Trinidad),
Kiwanis Music Festival (Toronto), Panorama Competition
(Toronto), Pan Alive Competition (Toronto) and Caribana
(Toronto).  Currently, his focus is on arranging and instructing
youth groups; St. Jamestown Youth Centre in Toronto and
previously the Hamilton Youth Steel Orchestra (HYSO).  He has
also instructed and arranged for the adult adjunct to the
Hamilton Youth Steel Orchestra.

We are proud to have Delano, not only as our musical director
but also as our arranger.  His arrangements commonly referred
to as "sweet" and melodic certainly represent what Symphonyx is
all about, "Precious Harmony of Sounds".
